A Prayer (Beirut)

A few days ago, after a conversation with someone we love distraught over the events in Lebanon, my husband Alberto awoke in the middle of the night and wrote this message. It touched me, and I felt it applies to so many happenings in our lives.

May these words bring you peace. May they bring you comfort. May you feel the love that envelops you in every moment.

~Mony 🙏🏽❤️

P.S. you may share this #prayer, with our blessings.

* * *

Many times in our lives, when we have seen events that horrified us or left us wondering how anything like this could ever happen, we have always remembered the one thing - the only thing - of which we have no doubts: that God is Love.

I know that God loves us all, so in my prayers, I ask,

“Please, dear Father, help me to understand your Love. Help me to understand your reasons, your purpose.

Help me to surrender to you my limited understanding, to allow you to correct my vision, my way of seeing this, my interpretations… and finally see the Light, finally see things the way You see them.

If you are Love, dear God, how could anything like this ever happen? What am I not seeing or understanding?

Help me to understand, help me to see things how they truly are. Show me your ways, your loving wisdom…

I am listening, dear God. I trust you.

Show me your Way.”

I then wait for an answer. He will answer because He is Love, and Love always answers. And God loves you and all of us so very much.

Trust that the answer and the understanding will come. Maybe not in this very moment, maybe in the afternoon, maybe the next day or the next week…, but the answer will come.

And it will be an answer that you will recognize because it will bring comfort to your heart and peace to your mind.

When you surrender your pain and your frustration to Him, the answer will arrive and, with it, the miracles too.

Wishing you, your families and friends, and to our very dear #Lebanon all the love and the best of the universe. 💖🙏

For everything, there is a season...

Dear friends and listeners of "Conversaciones con conciencia",

Over two years ago, Alberto and I were offered a one-hour time slot on CHIN Radio Ottawa for a Spanish-language program. What a gift! We could speak about anything we wanted, so long as included some great Spanish songs.

We opened ourselves to inspiration and, after much thought, we came up with the title “Conversaciones con conciencia “, knowing we only wanted to speak to topics and ideas that inspire introspection, contemplation and personal growth. All with a light touch and a dose of humour. All, at the end of the day, meant to bring #love and #light into the world.

We’re proud of the 44 episodes we’ve done, and the many laughs we had and good times we shared with you. The links to all these episodes are at the end of this message.

But for everything, there is a season. We won’t be continuing our show with CHIN, and are now considering how/if to continue with it. One thing is sure: it’s impossible for us NOT to speak about awakening and consciousness! 😁

In the meantime, it’s been an honour and a privilege to be part of the CHIN family. Our thanks to the ever-supportive Veronica Franklin and Francesco Di Candia for giving us this opportunity, and to Wally Rayne for always making us sound so good.

Thank you all for your love and support during those years. Thank you all for listening.

Gracias y buenas noches! 💖🙏

Mother Angel - Art

Alberto Agraso - Art of the Spirit
"Mother Angel"
When Alberto told me the dream that he had with his mother a few nights ago, I asked him to please draw it so that I could have that image of her in my mind, and not of her in the residence where she now lives.

His mom has been like a second mother to me, an angel in her own way, bringing love and kindness into our lives... and I know she is doing so where she is right now.

I'm grateful for this...

FREE DOWNLOAD Walking for Peace - until 11/11/2020

Dear friends and pilgrims,

We know this is a time of introspection and inner journeying for many of us, a (forced) time of isolation where, in addition to our physical well-being, we are grappling with our mental, emotional and spiritual well-being, asking questions that perhaps we haven’t dared ask in a long time.

We have left our “normal world” behind, instinctively knowing that it is forever gone, and are on a journey with many unknowns, facing many fears and questioning the very meaning of all that we hold to be true and sacred. We may not know where we end up, but we know that we will be forever changed.

We are essentially on pilgrimage! Welcome...

This is inner terrain that Alberto and I have tread, wrestling with many of the existential questions that many of us are now facing. We did it during our pilgrimages on the Camino, and later walking from Rome to Jerusalem.

We offer you, during these times of many unknowns, our lived experiences walking through those questions, and the many lessons and revelations that resulted from them.

That’s what our book “Walking for Peace, an inner journey” is all about.

We are offering the e-book editions – in English, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese – for free, as our gift and contribution to these evolving times.

Visit smashwords.com, search for the book you wish to download, and upon checkout enter code DS82X. For now, it expires November 11, 2020. All popular reader formats are supported.

May these books serve your inner journeys.

All our love, and buen camino!
~Mony and Alberto

Explaining the Art Exhibit "31 Illustrated Visions from Beyond the Veil"

I have spent the past week immersed in the mind of my husband artist and illustrator Alberto Agraso LOL translating his explanations of each of the 31 illustrations of his art exhibit.
Every year, for the 31 days of October, illustrators from around the world participate in a daily challenge called "#inktober", where each artist offers their visual representation of the assigned word of the day.
For Alberto, the word begins the process of opening up to visions and interpretations that expand the word's meaning and allow a perspective grounded in Spirit to come through his pencil into form.
He channels messages from the Divine, and expresses them in illustrated form using only ink and paper. This is his Art of the Spirit, and what he is sharing in his art exhibit called:
"31 Illustrated Visions from Beyond the Veil"
Many of the images made me chuckle. All of them made me reflect, and appreciate more fully what a truly intuitive process this is.
I especially liked Day 16 "Purity", AFTER he explained it! LOL I had no idea what he was trying to say at first; and I continue to watch it over and again to pick up the many layers of messages on leading with the heart and the mind. Fascinating!
Day 18 "Annoyingly Happy" made me laugh! The title says it all...
Day 28 "Holographic Whale" was just WOW! How in the world did he capture an image that so powerfully shows moving from one state of consciousness to another?
And so many more!
As I stated before, these aren't just beautiful pieces of art from a talented artist;
They are channeled messages, visions from the Divine, that are in the form of an illustration.
I hope you'll check them out. I'd love to hear which ones you enjoyed. The Exhibit is up until Dec. 15 at Camellia Tea House (849 Nicholson Ave., Ottawa).
All the original pieces are also available for sale. Please email albertoagraso (at) walkingforpeace (dot) com for pricing and shipping details.

This is Our Story

Each and every one of us, in certain moments of our lives, feels a call.

A call to change, to follow a dream or ideal; at times, even a call towards the unknown, driven by an emptiness that needs to be filled.

Like so many people, we were stuck in our jobs, doing things that paid our bills but didn’t feed our souls.

The golden handcuffs kept us like slaves, and we didn't even know we were enslaved.

We could only dream of being free, and doing what we truly loved.

But what if we took that step, and became explorers of this earth and saw it as a place of wonder, magic and infinite possibility?

And that the whole Universe had our back?

And that we are not merely the reflection staring back at us in the mirror,

but beings of wonder, magic and infinite possibility,

initiates on a journey of the Soul, here to experience, to explore, to awaken, to appreciate, to become whole.

This is our story.

Walking for Peace, an inner journey.

Being in Conscious Relationship

Relationship is a sacred gift, and opportunity. Beyond love and companionship, a partner in a conscious relationship with you can unlock doors to healing and spiritual growth unlike any other.

I met Alberto in Finisterre, when we had each walked our Caminos alone. I already had the idea to walk from Rome to Jerusalem, again alone. Imagine my surprise when we ran into each other, three months later, as I was on my way to Rome! Our relationship began then, as pilgrims sharing the path, then as companions, friends, lovers and today, parents.

In this talk at Unity Spiritual Centre Ottawa, we share the story of the journey of that relationship, and what we have learned walking together in our seventeen-year relationship .

Thanks for liking and sharing!

Angels Among Us

Today, we celebrated the arrival of our latest tri-language children's book "MY FAMILY AND I - MA FAMILLE ET MOI - MI FAMILIA Y YO", with a touching experience.

From the moment we were writing this book, we knew we had something special, that we were somehow bringing a piece of the eternal into our everyday.

This morning, I had a dream. I am standing in our kitchen beside my husband Alberto, who was washing some dishes in the sink. Above the sink is a large window overlooking our back yard. As we speak, I see reflected in the window (beside Alberto) the image of an older man, with a round face receding hairline. He's dressed in a grey suit with light checks, and is looking down at a pair of dark-rimmed glasses that he's holding in his hands, and wiping with a cloth. He looks at me and smiles with such tenderness and kindness.

I know it's Alberto's dad, Rafael, even though I never met him. He passed a few days after Alberto and I began walking together to Jerusalem. I'm in tears as I share the dream with Alberto, who confirms that his father had a grey, checked suit that he wore for special occasions and that he wore dark-rimmed glasses.

He's also one of the main characters in the book that we received today; perhaps in his own way letting us know that he is near, as are all our loved ones, and that we are never alone.

~Mony

Queen of the Oceans ~ by Mony Dojeiji

Original Soul-Portrait by Alberto Agraso

I am an explorer,
Enthusiastic, curious and joyful as a child,
Navigating the waves of life’s adventures.

I feel safe, calm,
Confident in the knowing that I am growing
Into the fullness of Who I Am,
Accompanied by the wisest, most loving,
Eternal part of Me.

She guides me, Protects me, Loves me.

I connect with Her. I am Her.

Through her eyes, I see my life.
Through her eyes, my life’s journey makes perfect sense.
Through her eyes, I understand that all is Love.

I see infinite possibilities and paths to explore.

I flow. I choose my destiny, Knowing
That the essence of all that exists–
And what moves everything – is Love;

That all paths are my opportunity
To explore the Divine Light that I am;

That all paths lead me to the most sacred destination:
My Divine Light.

Courage is taking one step...

Courage: We often think of it in grand terms, as giant feats of heroism; but I’ve come to appreciate that true courage involves listening to our intuition and taking one purposeful step in the direction of our highest truth.

I have many experiences to draw from, but I will share with you the story of what happened when I left Microsoft, not knowing my next steps and not having a clear direction for my life.

The decision didn’t happen overnight. It took several years, as I flitted from job to job within the company, waiting for each new job to fill the tremendous void of dissatisfaction and fatigue I was feeling. The initial enthusiasm and challenge would inevitably wane, and I would once again begin to feel restless; but I wasn't ready to give up my career, my identity or my livelihood.

At the same time, a powerful shift was happening within me.

My intuition was awakening. Until then, if I couldn't see or touch a thing, it didn't exist. Logic won over instinct every time. But I was seeing how those little hunches, those tiny feelings that carried absolute knowing, were bringing me to places of healing and comprehension. I began listening to them.

I felt connected to a greatness that extended beyond my concepts of love; and I felt it close to me, encouraging me to act on all the coincidences that were presenting themselves. Even though my logic protested at the absurdity of following a coincidence, I did it anyways, and found myself in situations that brought clarity and insight.

I also felt as if all of Creation was awaiting my moment of decision, so that they too could move with me.

Let me tell you what happened when I finally made my decision to quit.

I had left Canada, and was now working at the Microsoft’s head office in Washington. I finally worked up the resolve, and walked into my manager's office to tell her the news. She knew I was unhappy and so, before I could speak, began to describe a new job opportunity that would have me be the liaison between Corporate office in the U.S. with the offices in Europe, Middle East and Africa. It would be a relationship-building job where I would travel the region, sharing best practices with them and taking back to Corporate the practices that were working well locally that we could incorporate into international programs.

Could there be a better job?! To travel, meet people, share stories, and get paid for it?!

I was paralyzed by indecision, shutting down what I knew to be my truth and beginning to convince myself that THIS new job would bring me the inner peace and fulfillment I was seeking...until a friend and mentor at Microsoft sat me down and said:

“You need great courage to take one small step in the direction of your heart and its yearning, even when you don't know where that step will lead you exactly. Do you have that courage?”

I decided that I did. When I finally quit, the floodgates that had been holding the precious clarity I sought opened up. They led me to a retreat in the mountains a few hours from my home where I would serendipitously meet my eagle, and begin my pilgrimages and travels.

One small step. One committed act towards self-love and inner peace. One act of faith in myself and all the forces of Love that I knew were rooting for me!

And knowing that behind that leap, Love has my back!

That's all it took.

May your courage reveal the next step in your journey.

Radio Interview with The Drew Marshall Show

Over the years, Alberto and I have done many radio interviews and enjoyed them all; but rarely have we laughed as much as we did with Drew on his The Drew Marshall Show...

Drew was preparing to go on the Camino himself, with a special vow of walking in silence. We shared our stories, and spoke about love - in fact, it was his first question, wanting the details of our love story! -  the heart of pilgrimage, why we walked for peace, and so much more.

It was a touching and deep interview, with many moments of laughter.

Alberto has added pictures from our journey for your viewing pleasure.

Thanks again, Drew!

Co-hosting "La onda infantil" Radio Show

What fun I had hosting this one-hour radio program, in Spanish, with my partner Alberto Agraso.

In addition to the lovely music, we spoke about traveling for the first time without children, and the importance of teaching children that, although one or both of their parents may travel, they are deeply loved. We also touched on the importance of parents learning to let go, so that the the child may develop confidence and independence.

The podcast will be available here http://www.chinradioottawa.com/index.php/podcast/latino. Check for the "Onda Infantile March 21" show.

Love revealed itself when I least expected it

It’s such a cliché to hear that you find love when you’re not looking for it. Yet here I am, one of those clichés.
My divorce in the late ‘90s came quickly and unexpectedly. From having just moved into the house of my dreams, to now being alone for the first time in my adult life, I felt confused, withdrawn and hesitant to commit to any relationship.
But within this great upheaval was the seed for the greatest transformation, as I began taking those first tentative steps towards knowing and accepting myself, and towards love of self above all else.
It was with this inner focus that I showed up on the Camino in May of 2001. I didn’t prepare. I didn’t plan. I had quit my corporate career nine months earlier, and begun to travel alone. My intention was to find the meaning in my life that had until then eluded me. I was also experimenting with a new spirituality, trying to shift my focus from living in my mind and its need to control every aspect of life, to living from the heart, learning to trust in myself, in others and this magnificent Universe in which we live. Rather than avoid my fears, I wanted to face and heal them. Rather than close off from the world, I wanted to embrace it.
From the deserts of Egypt to the beaches of the Mediterranean, I wandered as a tourist until I found myself at the foothills of the Pyrenees Mountains, in St. Jean Pied du Port. I had read Shirley MacLaine’s account of her pilgrimage on the Camino; that was my only preparation. In 2001, there were few guidebooks or resources as compared to today. So, I showed up, bought the only English guide I could find, and began walking.
At first, I followed the guidebook religiously, walking the miles it suggested and sleeping in the places it recommended. But how could I learn to trust in myself, in my intuition, if I was continually following the book’s advice?
<<< The rest of this story can be read on the pilgrim blog The Camino Provides >>>.
My thanks to Laurie Ferris for sharing our story on her blog.

Just because you're good at doing something, does that mean you always do it?

A Mony moment :-)

Just because you’re good at doing something, does that mean you always have to do it?

That question came up in a conversation Alberto and I were having about the many to-dos of running our business. The more he kept telling me it was easier for me to do the planning or marketing, the angrier I felt. It brought back memories from my seven years at Microsoft that saw me moving from one role to another: seminar presenter, product manager, marketing manager, account manager, business manager…

The management roles were all similar, in the sense that I was usually responsible for planning and executing whatever was needed to reach a new market segment or launch a new product. I didn’t have a team, and although I really wanted to grow into that leadership role, it never happened. I often wondered if there was something wrong with me until a manager confided: “We see you as a doer, and know that you’ll do a great job no matter where we put you.”

I’m sure this manager meant it as a compliment, but it deflated me.

How was I going to grow and develop new skills if I was using the same ones over and again? How would I ever grow professionally and personally?

As you all know, Alberto and I write, translate and publish our own books (with the exception of our Chinese book!). We do all the marketing, public relations, distribution and all aspects of running a business. It is our full-time work, and I am applying the same skills to our business as the ones I honed at Microsoft. Most days, I love it.

But there are days I want to give that job to someone else, and go off exploring the uncharted waters of those waiting-to-be-discovered talents.

How can I do both, and well? Is it even possible to do each path justice?

I’m navigating my way through this, and this is what I’ve discovered so far.

I’m not ready to hand off the running and growing of our business to someone else (yet), but I can ask myself:

WHY I am doing this work?
WHO am I BEING in the process?
WHAT is the HIGHEST PURPOSE that I am serving?

I can remind myself that my work is, above all else, an expression of who I am. That, in updating our website, I am sharing a part of who I am with others. That, in doing the accounting, I am appreciating our prosperity. That, in contacting agents and distributors, I am moving the engines of creation and expanding the reach of what we offer.

I’m not always in this place, btw. It is spiritual practice finding the love and the extraordinary in the routine and familiar. It’s much easier to embark on the next adventure! But when I am in that place, I am alight, let me tell you!

I also practice being present, and opening myself to the next steps in my journey as a soul in continual transformation. I especially do this in the moments when all is flowing beautifully because it’s so much easier to do than when I’m disgruntled.

I especially practice patience :-). For I have seen that when I am able to practice pouring love into what I do, and placing myself in the direction of my soul’s expansion, then all seems to work out almost effortlessly. What I have outgrown resolves itself and what I am growing into pulls me along.

In our life’s journey, this is a fork in the road we will all face, with our hearts the only beacons guiding the path we will choose.

May love and courage always guide those steps.
Blessings,
Mony
