As we all follow the wise words of nonna in the video π,
And do all that we can to strengthen our bodies’ immune systems, I ask you to also consider strengthening your:
☑️Emotional Immune System.
Fear, anxiety, stress, etc. weaken the body’s immune system and paralyze our thoughts.
Strengthening our emotional immune system means acknowledging these emotions – maybe even letting them run within you for a limited time – but then moving forward. It is serious practice controlling the turbulent waters of our emotions.
There are many ways, but I find breath to be especially effective for me. I allow each in-breath to bring calm and each out-breath to carry tensions away. I practice this all the time.
Feed positive emotions within you such as joy, laughter, optimism, hope, gratitude. Watch a funny movie. Listen to music. Dance. Go for a walk. Make a list of what you’re grateful for.
If you still feel agitated, punch a bag or pillow. Go for a run or do vigorous exercise. Move the energy so it doesn’t fester and stagnate.
☑️Mental Immune System.
Our thoughts and beliefs influence what we experience. What we focus on, we nourish. What we believe, we will see: “credendo vides”.
Examine your thoughts, beliefs and judgments around health, about people of different races or cultures, about who you are. Rather than judge your thoughts, use this opportunity to transform them into thoughts that empower. Here's one way:
Breathe! Yes, again... :-) This serves the dual purpose of calming your emotions and slowing your thoughts.
Keep focusing on the breath. Envision each thought like a string. The strings of your thoughts are tangled in a knot that, with each breath, begins to loosen. See these strings floating free in your mind’s eye. Now – depending on your belief system – offer them to God, to Jesus, Inner Healer, Higher Self, Sacred Fire, Divine Mind, Creator, Healing Angels… whatever works for you. But offer them as a sacred act of personal liberation, and with the knowing that they are now forever transformed. In their place, thoughts grounded in peace, in wisdom, in authority enter your mind and inspire new thought.
Do this regularly. You can also practice your favourite mindfulness or meditation techniques or yoga or chanting. Whatever calms your mind, and brings you peace.
If you must watch the news, look for the helpers. Who is working with compassion and wisdom for the benefit of all? Share that with me in the Comments below.

Now is the time to harness love, compassion, generosity, light, power, perfection…and pour those nourishing energies like a salve unto the world. Feel them within you first. Let them take you over. Radiate them into all who are affected. Into all who might be at risk. Into the minds and hearts of all people, including all leaders. Into the virus itself. This is the work of the heart, of all who proclaim themselves to be light-workers.
This is an opportunity to practice a consciousness we all say we believe and wish to see in our world, one that leads with love, sees the brotherhood of all and serves the highest good of all.
It begins, as always, with us.
