No relationship is perfect. No union is without its flaws. The steps towards healing our past often seem too slow, while the future we envision at times feels so very far away.
Still, on this day, I am filled with pride in this country, hope for its future and gratitude for the opportunity to live and raise our daughter here.
I can't think of any other country in the world I would rather call home.
